Shootout in Crimea: Russia's FSB vs Ukrainian Saboteurs
August 11, 2016 — Anyone following Ukraine-related news over the last few days will be aware of reports of Russian troop movements in Crimea, of a shoot out there between the Russian security forces and alleged Ukrainian infiltrators which left several people dead, and of claims that Ukrainian sabotage groups had attempted to infiltrate the peninsula . . . The Ukrainians for their part deny all these allegations, claiming that the whole incident has been invented by the Russians. Western media, predictably enough, is following the Ukrainian line with wild speculations that the Russians have fabricated the whole incident to justify a Russian invasion of Ukraine during the Olympic Games . . . Obama vs Trump, Putin and Erdogan: Can Coups defeat Elected Governments?

Washington has organized a systematic, global, no holds barred campaign to oust Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump from the electoral process. The virulent anti-Trump animus, the methods, goals and mass media resemble authoritarian regimes preparing to overthrow political adversaries. Comparable propaganda efforts led to political coups in Chile in 1973, Brazil 1964, and Venezuela in 2002. The anti-Trump forces include both political parties, a Supreme Court judge, Wall Street bankers, journalists and editorialist of all the major media outlets and the leading military and intelligence spokespeople. Washington's forcible and illegal ouster of Trump is part and parcel of a world-wide campaign to overthrow leaders and regimes which raise questions about aspects of the imperial policies of the US and EU. (2) Calling for large scale public investment projects to rebuild the US industrial economy, challenging the primacy of financial capital.
(3) Opposing the revival of a Cold War with Russia and China and promoting greater economic co-operation and negotiations.
(4) Rejecting US support for NATO's military build-up in Europe and intervention in Syria, North Africa and Afghanistan.
(5) Questioning the importation of immigrant labour which lowers job opportunities and wages for local citizens.
The anti-Trump elite systematically avoid debating these issues; instead they distort the substance of the policies.

The Australian Football League is to hold a gay homosexual "Pride Match" on August 13. Their Respect and Responsibility Vilification Framework calls for social inclusion of a wide range of groups and promotes player, club and community education programs to counter "vilification," which it defines as: "Acting towards, speaking in a manner, or engaging in any conduct which threatens, disparages, vilifies or insults a person on any basis but not limited to, a person's race, religion, colour, descent, national/ethnic origin, special ability/disability, sexual orientation/preference or identities" (p. 7).
As a matter of justice, nobody should be discriminated against on any of these grounds. All people should be respected regardless of their race, or whether they are gay, or religious people, or people with no religion.
This is shameful disrespect for humanity and gross deceit as this "vilification" so-called is chosen by those who of their own free will choose to feel vilified by "taking" offence which cannot be "given." Clearly the powerful and well organized infinitesimal minority behind this global epidemic do not worship the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. Joel Chapter 3
Joel 3:1-3 describes in greater detail what has been summarized in chapter two, in particular what will come to pass after God pours out His Spirit upon all flesh under the Seventh Trump, Sixth Seal and Seventh Vial (Joel 2:28). "In those days, and in that time," the Lord will return the captivity from the nations in which they have been scattered. God's Bible and His Prophet William Branham stress the fact modern Israel is not peopled by the sons of Jacob but by non-Semitic self-styled Jews and Semitic Arabs. "For fear of the Jews" the children of Israel will not return to the Land of the Covenant before the first half of Daniel's Seventieth Week (Psalm 17:7; Isaiah 6:10-13; 11:11-16; 27:13; 49:17; Jeremiah 3:12, 18; 16:15; 23:8; 31:8; Ezekiel 37:14; 39:27-29; Joel 3:1; Micah 5:3; Zechariah 10:9-12; Matthew 24:29-31; Revelation 12:14): in the Day of the Lord's wrath in judgment upon all nations (Isaiah 13:9, 13; Malachi 4:5; Romans 2:5; Revelation 6:17).
Our Absolute is the unchanging Word of God's Holy Bible. Brother Branham's Message restored the apostolic faith and finished the mystery of God (Malachi 4:5-6; Jude 3; Romans 16:25; Revelation 10:7), and we must prove his Message by two or three witnesses of scripture to understand what God means rather than proving the Message by itself. Those who quote the spoken Word without taking it to the written Word will invariably fall into error. Citing the paragraph above we note many ministers quote the Prophet against the Scripture when they teach that Daniel's Seventieth Week is three and a half rather than seven years, and that the Israelites have returned to Palestine since 1948 when it is their enemy, the Edomite and Khazar 'Jews' that have stolen the land and name of Israel (Isaiah 63:1-4; Obadiah; Malachi 1:4).
The pagan's first crime is the scattering of Israel and division of the Land. As part of the peace process Revelation 16:19 says: "the great city will be divided into three parts"—the nation of Israel, Old Jerusalem, a corpus separatum governed by the Judaeo-Roman Universal church, and the nation of Palestine as also prophesied in Zechariah 14:2 and resolved under UN Resolution 181 of November 29, 1948.
Circumstances associated with the unprecedented cataclysm of nature that closes the Gentile dispensation and opens the Day of the Lord will awaken the sleeping saints and cause "all flesh" to manifest the nature of the "seed" planted in their soul by hearing or custom (Luke 8:11; Romans 10:17). Outside 144,000 elect Israelites in Israel there will be no place for repentance: "None of the wicked will understand, but the wise will understand" (Daniel 12:11; Revelation 22:11). This is the season when God's creative Word will manifest by a new wave offering that we are the Sons of God, justifying another cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary to receive us for the Wedding Supper in the air after we change in the atoms. Then Satan will be cast down to earth to incarnate the pope, thereafter called "the beast" (Revelation 17:8, 11; II Thessalonians 2:3, 8-12; Isaiah 14:12-14); and the restoration ministry of Israel's two prophets will produce their former rain.
God's judgment on the nations is the means whereby He will return the children of Jacob to the land of the Covenant. Christ's second or parousia Coming to Israel at the end of the Gentile dispensation will be signified by "the sign of the Son of Man in heaven" over the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:4; Daniel 7:13; Matthew 16:27 – 17:8; 24:3, 30; Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7). It will be unrecognized by the Israelites as the sign of His first Coming (Zechariah 9:9) was unrecognized. The ministry of two prophets (Zechariah 4, Matthew 24:31 and Revelation 11) will introduce His Coming but the eyes of Israel's understanding will be "holden" until the second half of Daniel's Seventieth Week. And when their elect do recognize His parousia, Israel will be born as a nation in one day (Isaiah 66:8; Zechariah 12:9-14). 
Zechariah 14:4: "And His feet shall stand in that day upon the Mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the Mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south." A Pillar of Cloud on the Mount of Olives coincidental with the sinking of Los Angeles will mark the Day of the Lord and herald the first resurrection! Of course His precious feet will not touch this earth until He returns with the glorified saints of all ages to step out on the nuclear ashes of the wicked for the millennium. Footprints indicate possession and judgment. Judgment began when the last saint predestinated to the Laodicean or Pentecostal Church Age was baptized into Christ in 1963 and His mediation was fulfilled. The Lamb became the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, King of kings and Judge, and with no blood on the sacrifice altar the Mercy Seat became the Judgment Seat. Isaiah 66:1: "Heaven is My throne and earth is My footstool [or Judgment Seat]." But as II Thessalonians 2:6-7 explains, our presence restrains God's wrath by transforming earth from His Judgment Seat to a Mercy Seat because the life is in the blood so we are the Blood of Christ by the baptism with the Holy Ghost and His Life is living in us (Deuteronomy 12:23; I Corinthians 6:17; Galatians 3:26-29).
"Judgment must begin at the house of God [that's you and me]: and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome of those who do not obey [the present Truth of] the gospel of God" (I Peter 4:17; II Peter 1:12)? Prior to judging the "House of God" He had to display this sign in on February 28, 1963, and send His prophet William Branham to restore the apostolic faith and finish the mystery of God for us (Psalm 19:1-6; Amos 3:7; Malachi 4:5-6; Matthew 17:11; Revelation 10:7). Revelation 1:1: "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto Him [after His ascension (Matthew 24:36)], to show to His servants [the seven angels to the Church Ages] things which must shortly come to pass; and He sent and signified it by His [seventh] angel [William Branham (Revelation 10:7)] to His servant John". 
The Mount of Olives is the central eminence of a ridge about two and a half miles in length. The highest peak rising 2,723 feet above sea level, overhanging the City from which it is separated only by the narrow valley of the Brook Kidron. Rising 187 feet above Mount Zion, 285 feet above Mount Moriah, 443 feet above Gethsemane (on the western slope of the Mount), it lies between the City and the desert toward the Dead Sea and completely obstructs the view in that direction. Around its northern side wound the road to Bethany and the Jordan. This mountain rendered access from the east to the city and temple difficult and intercepted the morning light and the flowing of the waters in that direction, both of which are mentioned in verses 6-9, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark: But it shall be a unique day [or dispensation] which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be Light. And it shall be in that day, that Living Waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former [or Dead] sea, and half of them toward the hinder [or Mediterranean] sea: in summer and in winter shall it be. And the Lord shall be king over ALL the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord and His Name the only one". All Scripture has a compound meaning and we live in the hypocritical gray day of apostasy in the Gentile churches which have compromised the faith until there is no clear right or wrong as foretold in Revelation 3:15-16. But in the evening time, just before the close of the dispensation, God sent the prophet of Malachi 4:5-6 who restored the transparent Light of understanding once delivered to the apostolic saints. At the dispensation change "Living Waters" will deliver grace for translation faith to Christ's end-time Bride and anoint two prophets to preach a former rain to 144,000 elect Israelites. "And the Lord shall be King over ALL the earth: in that day there shall be one Lord and His Name the only one".
Gihon, the only known living spring in the environs of Jerusalem, flows intermittently, only four or five times a day in the rainy season, and once a day in the dry summer season. Solomon was crowned at the spring of Gihon, and rode David's mule back into the city, signifying that he was king. Will Gihon be sealed, "for Living waters shall go out of Jerusalem" by the ministry of God's prophets: Light that overcomes all impassable obstacles by the fertile valley of faith, even mountains. Brother Branham said: "If the people get the true revelation of the true church and what she is, what she stands for and that she can do the greater works, she will be an invincible army" (An Exposition of the Seven Church Ages, p. 15:3).
The regeneration of elect Israelites who recognize and mourn the Day of Atonement their fathers rejected will herald Armageddon. The Millennium will "bring in everlasting righteousness" applied at the White Throne Judgment; then New Jerusalem under the eternal Shekinah of continuous day independent of sun, moon and stars will reign over a renewed earth (Isaiah 60:19-20; Revelation 21:25; 22:5).
Israel's anointed king David worshipped on the Mount of Olives rejected by his people and usurped by his beloved son Absalom (II Samuel 15:32)—a perfect type of Christ rejected by His people. In his decay Solomon profaned the mountain by building temples to the abominable gods of Moab and Ammon (I Kings 11:7). Good King Josiah defiled the high places Solomon had built (II Kings 23:13), and here "upon the mountain on the east of the city, the glory of the Lord hovered, when it had gone up from the midst of the city" (Ezekiel 11:23). Here the glory of the Lord sweated blood in anticipation of the ordeal He was about to endure in redeeming Israel that had rejected Him. Here also the Angel said, "this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen Him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11).
The prominence and position of the Mount of Olives standing between Jerusalem and natural S_U_N light was emblematic of the worldliness that stood between the S_O_N Light, the City and Temple of God. Natural events are SIGNS pointing to Spiritual things; in rending this hill, an enlightened Jerusalem will be prominent and clearly seen by all nations.
Isaiah 11:11-16, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set His hand again the second time to recover the remnant of His people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Upper Egypt, and from Pathros [Lower Egypt], and from Cush [Ethiopia], and from Elam [Persia], and from Shinar [Iraq], and from Hamath [Syria], and from the countries bordering the Mediterranean. [Nothing is said about the Ashkenazim who are Gentiles. The day of redemption for those of them who are in Adam's race is now, before God turns to Israel: or never]. And He shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth."
Brother Branham said that "ensign for the nations" was when the First Committee of the United Nations, on which each of the 55 members is represented, held twelve meetings, from May 6 to May 13, 1947, using the facilities for simultaneous translation available at Lake Success on May 6 to determine the make-up of the commission called the United Nations Special Committee on Palestine (UNSCOP) that would determine the future of Palestine (UN docs. A/C.I/P.V.46-57 (May 6-13, 1947). And "the oldest flag in the world" the [occult] flag [of the House of Rothschild] was raised over Jerusalem [perhaps metaphorically] on May 6, 1947 as an ensign, signal or rallying point to the diaspora.
"The envy also of Ephraim shall depart, and the adversaries of Judah shall be cut off: Ephraim shall not envy Judah, and Judah shall not vex Ephraim. But they shall fly upon the shoulders of the Philistines toward the west; they shall spoil them of the east together: they shall lay their hand upon Edom and Moab; and the children of Ammon shall obey them. And the Lord shall utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his mighty wind shall He shake his hand over the river, and shall smite it in the seven streams, and make men go over dry-shod. And there shall be an highway for the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria; like as it was to Israel in the day that he came up out of the land of Egypt." The FIRST return was from Egypt. As He did for Moses, God will remove any obstacle hindering the return. The SECOND return was from the land of Babylon in 538BC. This return is from the diaspora in Daniel's Seventieth Week (Isaiah 19:23).
Zechariah 4:7 takes up God's complaint. "Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain: and He shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, "Grace, grace unto it"
Zerubbabel was commissioned to rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem; he typed the Holy Spirit who is to build a new Temple for the Living God: one not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. No obstacle should stand before His task. Even if a mountain must be plucked up and cast into the sea, He will reveal that Temple—Christ and His Bride—to Israel, and thus "remove the iniquity of the Land in one day." He will reveal this Light to His people in Jerusalem by sending two anointed prophets in the Spirit and power of Moses and Elijah, the Olive Trees of the Old and New Testaments (Zechariah 3 and 4). Their ministry will reveal the Light shone through seven golden lamp stands by seven Church Age messengers which is "the plummet (or judgment line) in the hand' of the Master Builder. Their ministry is represented by the two new mountain peaks that allow the S_O_N Light to shine upon Jerusalem and Mount Zion. This is Revelation 7:2a and 11:1-4.
Isaiah 40:3-4, "The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, "Prepare the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted and filled, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth" (Luke 3:4-5). Every obstacle will be removed; even the Mount of Olives shall be split in twain.
The earthquake that sinks Los Angeles (Revelation 18:21-24) will trigger another earthquake at the same latitude on the other side of the globe that will cleave and transform the Mount of Olives into two new mountains (Isaiah 29:6). These will be divided by a wide valley running from Jerusalem eastward, through which certain Israelites will escape the carnage to apprise their kinsmen living in Muslim lands concerning the fulfilment of Zechariah 14:4, the demolition of "the abomination" desolating Temple Mount, and the appearance of a strange Cloud—"the Sign of the Son of man in heaven." When all Israel sees the revelation in the latter half of the Week there will be "shouts of Grace, grace unto it" as when Governor Zerubbabel laid the foundation of the restored temple (Matthew 24:30; Zechariah 4:7; Ezra 3:10-13).
The earthquake in the days of Uzziah possibly occurred when or resulted from his forcing his way into the temple against the protests of the priests, to offer incense on the golden altar belonging to the Holy of Holies. The antitype will result when the Devil-incarnate "man of sin, the son of perdition" issues a papal bull whereby the United States of America as "the image of the beast" in union with the (once) Protestant churches "forces all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand (signifying submission), or in their foreheads (signifying acceptance of trinitarian doctrine): and that no man might buy or sell unless he has the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name" (II Thessalonians 2:1-9; Revelation 13:15-18).
The same divinely sent earthquake that swallows up Israel's foe, opens out a way of escape to God's people (Zechariah 14:6-9; Isaiah 29:6; 64:1-2; Ezekiel 47:1-10; Micah 1:1-4; Revelation 11:13, 19 and 12:15-16). As God divided the Red Sea to provide an escape for the children of Israel, now He divides the earth.
Zechariah 14:6-9, "And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Light shall not be clear, nor dark: but it shall be a unique day [of apostasy, spiritual blindness and Christ's unseen second or 'parousia' Coming (Matthew 24:36; Revelation 3:17-20)] which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be Light."
Laodiceans are in the same spiritual state as Israel at the end of her dispensation. Isaiah 60:1-2, "Arise, shine; for your Light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples: but the Lord will arise upon you, and His glory shall be seen upon you".
God is separating the uncertain chaotic disorder of denominational darkness as when the Spirit of the Lord moved upon the waters, and said, "Let there be light," with THUS SAITH THE LORD.
Brother Branham's evening time Message restored the apostolic faith, finished the mystery of God and introduced "that which is perfect," Christ the fullness of the Word and "Light of the world" (I Corinthians 13:10; John 8:12). Our 144,000 attendants will see the Light when the revelation of the Seven Trumpet mysteries delivered by their prophets quickens them to a belated recognition of Christ's second or 'parousia' Coming.
"And it shall be in that day, that Living Waters [of the Gospel] shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former [or Dead] sea [Israelites], and half of them toward the hinder [or Mediterranean] sea [Gentiles]: in summer [for the Church Pentecostal jubilee] and in winter [for our Israelite attendants' Day of Atonement jubilee]." They escape into the bosom of Jesus by the Living Waters and new birth (Daniel 12:5-13). Living waters shall flow from Jerusalem in summer and in winter, unaffected by the seasons like the Spring Gihon. This Latter Rain which anoints the Sons of God for the manifestation of the 'third pull' to produce rapturing faith in the Gentile Bride, will be followed by the teaching or Former Rain to Israel through the ministry of 'Moses' and 'Elijah'.
To the desert dwellers of Palestine, the image of a rushing stream, whose grassy margin was overhung by waving trees, is about the most significant that could be used to express a living blessing. Joel 2:21-27 speaks of spiritual restoration in natural types, and Joel 3:18 speaks on millennium blessings. Isaiah 11:11-16 speaks of the remnant of Israelites gathered from the east and from the coasts of the Mediterranean. The vision of Ezekiel's temple is a motif of Israel's complete restoration as the millennium Temple will be the 144,000 themselves, the restored Kingdom under David's Greater Son (Ezekiel 47; Joel 2:21-32).
"In the dispensation of the fullness of ['kairos' or opportunity times as distinct from 'chronos' or chronological] times, God will gather together in one the full number of His elect in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth; even in Him in whom we have obtained an inheritance" (Ephesians 1:10-11). "And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and His Name the only one".
We are now studying the second half of Daniel's Seventieth Week. Joel 3:2, "I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the Valley of Jehoshaphat." This is the Valley of Kidron on the eastern side of Jerusalem between the city and the Mount of Olives; here Jehoshaphat defeated Moab, Ammon, and Edom (II Chronicles 20), three nations mentioned in Daniel 11:41. "Jehoshaphat" means Jehovah Judges. "Kidron" means to mourn in sackcloth; here emblematic of Israel's atonement and the scene of divine judgment "all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of Him" (Revelation 1:7). "Megiddon" means rendezvous. "Azal" means 'to join, to separate, hence to select, refuse, or contract.' In short, decision. This Valley is the place where God's decision and its consequences are revealed, the theatre of God's final judgments on Israel's foes.
The definite mention of the Mount of Olives in Zechariah 14:4, and the fact this was the scene of Christ's ascension confirms Zechariah is prophesying His unrecognized second or 'parousia' Coming to Israel (Acts 1:11) and signals the commencement of the first resurrection of Christ's Bride three days after the cleaving of the mountain (Zechariah 14:5; I Thessalonians 4:14; Jude 3). This is the one place in the Old Testament where the Mount of Olives is exactly so named although it is alluded to in II Samuel 15:30 as aforementioned. The high place of Tophet on the Mount of Olives foretells Armageddon (Jeremiah 7:30-34), and its southernmost peak is still known as the Mount of Offense, or the Mount of Corruption where Solomon built high places for idols (I Kings 11:7; II Kings 23:13)—abominations that make desolate.
". . . and I will enter into judgment with all nations in that Valley for My people and for My heritage Israel," with whom He has a covenant of love, and whom the Gentiles have scattered among the nations, selling boys to buy a harlot, and girls to buy wine—casting lots to divide the spoil in Jerusalem after 'Moses' and 'Elijah' are slain (Daniel 12:1; Zechariah 14:1-2; Obadiah 11; Revelation 11:7-10). Remember, the evil attributes of all four Gentile empires produce the New World Order under Papal Rome. God's grievances against the Gentiles span over 2,500 years. During the times of the Gentiles He used these nations to chastise His servant Israel, and His blessings upon the Gentile church were to make Israel jealous. But the nations exceeded their charge, and the churches apostatised and united with the State. Finally they set a man in the temple of God as if he were God, so that "all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond" must worship the beast (Isaiah 14:12-14; Daniel 9:27; 11:36; II Thessalonians 2:4; Revelation 13:4-8, 17). Thus the iniquity of the Amorites is full. God will not share His glory with another.
Joel 3:4-8, "Yea, and will you dispute with Me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? Will you retaliate? Beware for I will strike back swiftly and speedily; because you have taken My silver and My gold, and have carried into your temples My goodly pleasant things: The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have you sold unto the Grecians, that you might remove them far from their border. Behold, I will restore the remnant whither you sold them, and will punish you for what you have done: I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the Lord has spoken it".
This is a direct address challenging the nations that managed the diaspora but exceeded their remit. God quickly offers an "eye for an eye" and enumerates the reasons for Divine justice. Tyre and Sidon and the five regions of the Philistines were hostile to God's people and therefore to God. Historically the Philistines had often plundered Israel (Judges 13:1; I Samuel 5:1; II Chronicles 21:17). Temples were the usual repositories for foreign booty (I Samuel 5:2; 31:10). The Lord's treasures are not only those of His Temple but of His land as a whole. Their recompense will be what they have done to the Israelites. The Sabeans, from Sheba in Southern Arabia were as far to the southeast as Greece was to the northwest.
Joel 3:9-12 "Proclaim this among the Gentiles; "Prepare war, conscript your mighty men and muster your troops: beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears: let the weak say, "I am strong." All nations assemble yourselves. And cause Thy mighty ones to come down, O Lord. Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about".
Sanctifying for war was done by religious rites (I Samuel 7:8-9). The call is to all nations to prepare themselves for battle and to appear in the Valley of Jehoshaphat or Armageddon (Zechariah 4:2). "Jehoshaphat" means God Judges, so this is the valley of God's Judgment or Decision. "Decision" means something sharply or clean cut as with the sharp two-edged sword that proceeds from the mouth of Him whose name is called "the Word of God".
Armageddon demands all possible weapons and warriors; even the weak must volunteer for service. Their adversary, however, is not to be Israel as they suppose, but the God of Israel.
Joel 3:13. "Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down and tread the grapes; for the wine press is full, the vats overflow with their wickedness".
The nations have been summoned, their armies enlisted, and their false pleas have been heard. The Judge now orders His angels to carry out the sentence. In Palestine, grain harvest is followed by the vintage. The ripeness of the harvest, the fullness of the wine press, and the overflowing of the vats all express metaphorically, their "great wickedness" (Revelation 14:15-20).
Joel 3:14, "Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision".
"Multitudes" implies noisy or tumultuous crowds. Vast multitudes of the heathen are (metaphorically) assembled in the valley—NOT to make their decision but to receive God's verdict, His decision. God's enemies are caught in the valley between two mountains. Like Mount Ebal, which represented the curse of disobedience, and Mount Gerazim and the blessings of obedience (Deuteronomy 11:29). Man's day will end with the Gentile dispensation at the cleaving of the Mount of Olives. What the Adventists term 'probation' was fulfilled with the seven Church Ages of PART-WORD and Christ's mediation for ignorance of the fullness in 1963.
Redemption is over and there is no possibility of escaping God's verdict upon their decisions of the past. Revelation 22:10-12, "And He said to me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this Book: for the time is at hand. He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he who is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and My reward is with Me, to give every man according to his works".
Joel 3:15-16, "The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The Lord also shall roar out of Zion, and utter His voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the Lord will be the hope of His people and the strength of the children of Israel".
Darkness symbolizes judgment, as when sin was judged on the Day of Calvary (Matthew 27:45) then everything in earth and sky begins to crumble (Hebrews 12:27). God's voice condemns the nations, but is a refuge and stronghold for the 144,000. His Word is creative and though He is longsuffering, it produces what was spoken for those of the faith of Jesus Christ, whilst sinners are accursed. Revelation 19:15, "And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God." Those who take the sword perish by the sword. The conquering power in the final destruction of the foes of God is no human instrument but by the sword of the Word which has already proceeded from the mouth of all His holy prophets and apostles.
Joel 3:17-18, "Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain: then Jerusalem will be holy, and strangers not born into the Kingdom shall pass through it no more (John 3:3; Revelation 21:27). And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drip with new wine, and the hills will flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall flow with water, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the Lord, to water the valley of Shittim".
Revelation 21:22-27, "And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it and the Lamb is the Light thereof. And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's Book of Life".
Streams which usually run dry shall water the Valley of Shittim from the house of the Lord (Ezekiel 47:1-12; Zechariah 14:8; Revelation 22:1) and the desert shall blossom as a rose. The stream from Zion connects the Presence of God in His Temple with the future redemption of nature. This Messianic stream of blessing was probably suggested by the waters of Shiloah (Isaiah 8:6; Psalm 46:4) which flow from the spring Gihon under the Temple mount and irrigate the Kidron Valley for a short distance which is certainly the valley down which Ezekiel's stream was to flow.
Shittim was the last of the stations in the wilderness, and where Balaam allured the Israelites into the sin of Baal-peor, and from where Joshua sent out two spies to view Jericho and led them across Jordan to Gilgal in Canaan where the penitent Israelites renewed their covenant of circumcision and entered once more into possession of all the privileges of the people of God (Joshua 3:1; 4:20-21; 5:1-12).
Joel 3:19, "Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land". This is an illustration of cherem or anathema. By punishing the Egyptians and Edomites, who enslaved and betrayed Israel, God declares His servant nation innocent. The enemies of God's redeemed become His enemies (Genesis 12:3; Zechariah 14:21). Joel 3:20-21, "But Judah shall dwell forever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation. For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the Lord dwells in Zion".
